Our hearts are heavy throughout the state of Arizona as we reflect on the brave men who lost their lives in the Yarnell fire this week. They laid down their lives in an effort to save the town of Yarnell from the wildfire that quickly changed directions and overtook them. As the daughter of a 25-year veteran firefighter, I know that the families of these heroic men are now living a nightmare that I only feared while growing up. There are no words to express the sorrow in our hearts.
But, as you know, going to the aftermath of disaster is what we do. So, we are carrying on and doing our work in a way that would honor those who paid such a great price.
We’ve been contacted by several residents of Yarnell who suffered fire damage and asked to come up and help them with their insurance claims. We’ll be going up in the next few days once they begin to allow residents and adjusters into the area.
Please continue to keep the people of Yarnell and Prescott in your thoughts and prayers.
